Booklet of Protection of Migratory Birds in Lebanon
The Lebanese bird conservation community is increasingly successful in its struggle to protect the millions of migratory birds passing over their narrow piece of land along the eastern Mediterranean. A pdf booklet free to download has been produced and is attached here. Enjoy this nice briefing about one such success story, from Mount Terbol in northern Lebanon that is a real “dark spot” in terms of illegal bird killing. Conservationists have joined hands with the internal security forces and now seem able to protect at least some areas from the rampant raptor shooting that usually is what comes to mind. Great work all involved and let’s hope for a spring migration with less shooting (and less Covid-19, so we can together enjoy the spectacle).
