I love nature 2

I tend to look up more frequently…

Since childhood, I took care of nature, but to take an active part in protecting the environment, I started only studying in the lyceum. I was a member of the ecological club. We had debate about improvement of the environment. We discussed how to use solar panels, methods of irrigation of plants, trees cutting in urban settlements, and other issues related to protection of the environment. We created a social video, a fairy tale about nature for children, in order to attract people to treat nature more carefully. However, we did not meet our motto ‘Think globally, act locally’. We did not do much to make any improvements, and this fact disappointed me. Long after I left my lyceum, I was not involved in the club since it ceased to exist.

At the University, I entered the Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds (UzSPB) and joined ‘Phasianus’ student ornithological club. I began to take part in bird surveys and events held by the Society, learned that there are so many different, beautiful and peculiar birds in our country. I also learnt a lot about birds, existing problems associated with their protection and how they are resolved in our country from UzSPB members, volunteers and experienced ornithologists. Since then, birds, mammals and everything around me again became not something natural and ordinary, but a mysterious, and magnificent phenomenon of nature. Looking at the sky, I see not just flying “ticks”, but soaring Jackdaws, Sparrows and Swifts. I used to be scared of a Crow, dark as the night, circles in the sky, it looks like they were preparing a conspiracy of the universal mind and suggests gloomy thoughts, but now for me they are the same birds as the rest and are fun to watch.

When it comes to Pheasants on IBA ‘Dalverzin State Forestry and Hunting Management Area’, I will never forget the feeling of merging with nature. Listening to songs of Pheasants in the early morning, you begin to notice all the sounds: the rustle of grass, a kind of “croaking” of night herons sitting on the shelter in the trees nests and snorting bulls, cautiously glancing into the distance, so as not to stumble on them, even rising at sunset, the sun goes like the melodious music, the music of the symphony orchestra of nature. I would like more people to have the same feelings of respect and love for nature and it to be treated with care.
